Should I sell my VN 5sp?

Howdy, tossing up whether or not i should sell my 1989 series 1 VN Commodore Wagon 5sp manual. Im slowly doing it up although it doesnt need too mcuh work.

It needed two rear springs as they were chopped. (Ive fitted one of them & im half way through fitting the other one). It needs a rear left hand door handle, two tires, a bit of rust in the tail gate & a tiny bit near the sill.

It has 308,000km on her & YES the odometre still works!!! It might be up for a new clutch soon but still is perfectly driveable. It has an alarm & immobliser & some sleeve over the ignition the prevent anything being stuck in there to start it other than the key.

Do you reckon I should sell it? If so, how much do you think its worth?

that interior is hell clean, telling you now vns are not worth much at all these days.. $2000 maybe

Thats one clean interior. If you sell it you would probably get somewhere around the $1000 to $2000 mark.

mate if it was me i would keep it, its manual and seems to be in very good condition, if you sell it you'll b lucky to get 2k for it...

For reference nsladden, there was a white 5spd wagon which I had my eye on, almost identical to yours in condition and kays, which sold for $1000 without rego last year. But you may struggle for a buyer even at that price. This particular wagon was for sale for almost a year

I would be happy with around a grand. The car WAS a south australian car but its now a northen NSW car. Yeah the interior is pretty clean but u shoulda seen it before i cleaned it.

Car's done a few kays im sure there is power steering leaks,rust is common now for vn's left out in the weather,suspension parts are common also for a car with high kays,i guess its part of the vn dramas you get.

Id say $1200 because its manual and the interior looks decent, put some hubcaps on her get some retreads,get that bumper back on properlly,clean it up,try ur best to make it look presentable and flog it off.

You will have too many dramas as it becomes older into the mid 300,000km,and if due to neglet big dollar parts could cost you more than the car,who knows what parts are tierd...

Yea pretty sure power steer leaks & the tailgate has rust under the windscreen & a little bit here & there. Ill fix all that up one day....
