hey all,
after i sold the VQ i soon learnt my lesson, i shouldn't have sold it cos i miss it but now i have just gotten another 5ltr, its a 91 vn calais in perfect condition, interier is immaculate and i'm the 3rd owner with all service history.
the original owner had passed away last year and he owned it for 15yrs plus he had worked for holden his whole life so everything was done on time and properly.
now ive got it and im cheering, its only got 137,000k's too
theres only one problem ive got with it and its the brakes, when i'm doing 90+k's the car really shudders bad and its the same when i brake it shudders bad allso.
my question is what exactly would be causing this? is it just the pads worn out or something? or the disc is bent?
any help would be appreciated

Doing 90 and shuddering will the be wheel balance probably and braking will be warped discs, they are cheap and easy to swap so just get new ones
my money is on the warped disks, ive had it before

Spend the money and do the Vt upgrade. Now is the time to do it, seeings as you need to do the brakes anyway. Standard Vn-Vp brakes are useless.
im getting some slotted rotors for $107 each and just wondering when i go to change the rotors what way should the slots face when i put them on? also does that cap that ya need to take off to take the rotors off just pop off or unscrew?
any help would be great

another thing is whats the best way to drain the fluid out of the resiviour for when i have to open the calipers so no fluid goes anywhere? or should it be alright to just let it overflow and then wash it straight off with water?

The cap pops off and if it overflows just hose it off with water, but it probably wont overflow. Just use a normal G clamp to squeeze the piston open with the old pad protecting it. That's about it
yeh i worked it out, its alot easier to do than i thought and was a very good upgrade, the brakes feel so much better but ill have to run them in a bit b4 i can test them properly.
also was bout time they got changed as there was barely 1mm of pad left on all 4 pads
