    Default Car wont start???

As the title says my car wont start after doin some work on it. Now i had a fuel leak each time i filled up the tank at the filler tank hose pipe neways i manage 2 change and replace all the breather hoses aswell at the same time in doing so i also figured may aswell change the fuel filter aswell.

2 get this pipe changed i decided 2 drop the tank now after puttin the tank back on and connecting everything back up all it wants 2 do is crank over n thats it? i bridge teminals D and C on the diag cable 2 see if the pump was working and it is, now does ne1 else know wat it may b or somthing i can try next?

I assume the engine cranks over?

Does it cough and splutter or does it not fire at all?

Isn't there two fuel pumps on a V8? Are both running?

lol yep i had a quarter of a tank 2 put back in. i just looked again in the gregories seems if im not mistaken that there should b an external pump on all models except utes? well if thats true wheres mine gone? haha i have noticed after dropping the tank it had written on the tank vr-vs 80Ltr tank so mayb it was taken off previously?

pretty sure that the 2 pumps were on all v8's so yeh possiably been taken off

also im pretty sure they only go back one way but when u took the tank out did u reconnect the fuel pump wireing back the same and not back to front? as if its on back to front then the pump will spin backwards and not deliver any fuel to engin and also destoy the pump (if spinning for a larg amout of time).

Yeah i did check these a few times incase i did this but yeah ur right really they only plug in 1 way theres 2 connectors 1 4 the sender unit and the other 4 the fuel pump i ripped the pump out planning 2 mayb replace it neways n see wat happens 2moz heres a pic

Also 2 note as i pulled this out there was another hose that sits inside the tank almost lost it lol but managed 2 get it back with a trusty cable tie haha but yeah as u can see there 2 nozzils on top that the fuel lines connect 2, 1 2 the fuel filter and the other connects 2 some metal piping that runs straight 2 the front of the car. is this where there external pump should b? doesnt seem like theres any room 4 1 2 fit in there hey

When you dropped the tank did you disconnect the two fuel lines that go into the top of the tank????
If you look at the picture you provided the one that is pictured in between the electrical connector and the other fuel hose is the one that should go to the fuel filter.
The one that is on the furtherest to the right should be fuel return from the engine. It should plug into another hose inside the tank.
If these are the wrong way around = no go!
Are you sure there is enough fuel in the tank??? Did not kink the hoses of when you refitted the tank??

Yeah i had 2 disconect those 2 hoses at the top of the tank so i was able 2 drop the tank fully, mayb ive squashed those wen fittin the tank back up? would that still stop the engine from turning over at least?

Theres definatly enough fuel in the tank i managed 2 get a 20ltr gerry can and 2 5ltr cans full lol and they all went back in. wat do u mean by a mechanical pump?

Yeah i would expect that either the hoses were mixed up when refitted or they were squished when tank put back in place.
    Refit and try again.
Also when you go for a start just turn the key from off to ign a few times and let the pump build up pressure in the fuel line and rail. ( it should kick in for a bout 5-10 secs and then stop pumping until you go to start)
    Good luck.

its always a good time to replace it if ya dont know how old it is while ya have it out (if ya can get it cheap enough) as they are very common to fail in these cars
