battery light help asap

just swapped my 5 litre from my executive to my new berlina but now when i connect the battery the battery light on the dash comes on without the key in the ignition and when i start the car it goes out but the alternator isnt charging ??? any help will be appreciated asap thanks

Sounds like you have the alternator wiring arse about. You have the battery feed wire on the wrong terminal.
