Default Rubber exhaust hangers, any tips ?

    Hey all

Need to replace one of my rear exhaust hanger mounts again and thought I'd see if anyone on here has any tips or tricks to make the job a little less annoying considering tomorrows temperature in Melbourne...

Cheers, was a little lazy last time as i put the unbroken one that was already on there onto the trouble side as it was already stretched out a little (nearest the towbar, etc) and the new one on the easier open side but now the old one has broken so I'll do it right first time this time...

haha yeah, just a chunky flathead should do the trick.

If all else fails, use cable ties

Ahhh...the wagon with the towbar and replacing the rubbers. This is one of the nastiest jobs on this particular car. It is a prick to change the side closest to the towbar. You need to bend the tab down on the hanger on the body and use a screw driver to lever the rubber up over it. It can be easier if you remove the rubber bump stop as you can get the muffler up higher, then refit the bump stop. If you only have a pipe and no muffler on the rear, it is easier to get to as the body of the muffler is not in the way.

Those Rubbers are very difficult,The most easiest way i have seen it done is to put the car on a hoist @ an exhaust shop, tho no everyone has one,ur best option jack up the car use some axel stands for extra protection and use a pry bar 45 degress to the clamp and gently work the new rubber on eg flat head or large bladed object.

If all else fails spend 10- 25 buks and get ur local exhaust shop to slip it on in no time.
    Cheers.
