Hey Guys
walkin back to my car today and thought it would look pretty smick with tinted tail lights, but first i have a couple fo questions!?
A. is it legal on a VN?
B. how the **** do ya do it?
Any help would be appreciated!!
A. To be legal, the brake and indicator lights have to be visible from a certain distance, I think its 30 meters in daylight in South Australia and you cant tint the indicator, but it may be different depending on where you live.
B. To tint them you use a product called night shades, it comes in a spray can and you apply coats until you are happy with the darkness. Night Shades is avalible at automotive stores like Autobarn or Supercheap Auto.
If you don't want the icky finish on the outside of the lights and your feeling keen, you can pry open the lense away from the backing on each tail light and spray them from the inside.
cheers for ya help guys, might head down to autobarn later today and give it a go!

Is there any such thing as a blue spray on tint? i.e. a blue version of night shades?
im sure the distance u have 2 b able 2 see the lights is 200m im sure stealthy can comfirm that? also if u use nightshades ina can go over the top with a few coats of clear after (1 that says u can polish it) so u wont get that icky look mack was talkin bout i did this on mine came up a treat.

Alright, so I gave Transport SA another call today, and the guy on the phone was extremely helpful and gave me this link: ROAD TRAFFIC (VEHICLE STANDARDS) RULES 1999 - REG 88 Yes it is 200 meters and he said that the guy that I spoke to last time must have been an idiot.
