hi all,
i want to paint the clear acrylic grille on my VP in body colour. is there anything to look out for here? or is it just a matter of spray and go? i'm not sure whether regular spray paint will stick properly to the clear acrylic.
any help would be much appreciated.
hey mate, it is that easy but get yourself some plastic primer for any good automotive shop!
Even better, go to Holden, source a genuine HSV original plastic grille, and spray that. Don't use normal everyday spray paint, use auto paint. I go my auto paint shop and have my paint colour matched for me and then i spray my parts.
I didn't prime my VP GTS grille, but i laid down about 5 or 6 thin smooth coats of colour matched alaskan white, then about 3 coats of clear. Haven't had a problem in the 7 months it's been on there.

call around ya local wreckers theres plenty of VP grills that are already colour coded and knowing most wreckers will cost you less to get one thats already painted then to buy the paint
