    Default painting VP clear grille

    hi all,

i want to paint the clear acrylic grille on my VP in body colour. is there anything to look out for here? or is it just a matter of spray and go? i'm not sure whether regular spray paint will stick properly to the clear acrylic.

any help would be much appreciated.

Even better, go to Holden, source a genuine HSV original plastic grille, and spray that. Don't use normal everyday spray paint, use auto paint. I go my auto paint shop and have my paint colour matched for me and then i spray my parts.

I didn't prime my VP GTS grille, but i laid down about 5 or 6 thin smooth coats of colour matched alaskan white, then about 3 coats of clear. Haven't had a problem in the 7 months it's been on there.

get a pressure pack made up with the same coulor code and rub down the inside of the clear grill with prepsol or acrilic thinners then spray wen clean, i have only just done this yesterday and i thought the spray paint will be fine becuse its protected from the elements sprayin the bak of the grill.

Yeah but it's better than a fibreglass one. They dry out in the sun after a while then alot of bumps in the road still start putting hairline cracks through the fibreglass that just keeps getting worse. I wish people made aftermarket plastic kits.

    Damnation!!
