Default vl diff head into vn

hay all, just wondering if a vl 3.46 diff head would bolt into 1990 vn diff housing as my 3.08s are abit sad.

^^ Ah yeah forgot about that, (good opportunity to convert it to LSD) else you can keep the VN 28 spline centre and bolt the 3:45s onto it.

All VN's have 28, it's a bit of work but hey, worst case it breaks and you need only need to get a cheap VN diff to stick back in

could you put a full VL diff in the VN? would you have to change the tail shaft or just bolts up?

The complete diff assembly bolts in but you have to make mini tubs and run really big rims for it to make sense (the VL diff is an inch narrower on each side) . The VN Group A ran a VL diff with mini tubs. You don't need an engineers for mini tubs either

Single spinners are easy to change never done a lsd so cant comment there but done heaps of single spinners and heaps of centers with a mini spool in them they are the best thing just not real good for road use.

VL diff is 40mm narrow all up compared to a VN diff.

Depending on what rims you are running to how well it will fit. I've got SV 5000 rims on my wagon and slotted a VL Wagon diff straight in with no drama's at all. But that probably has something to do with the SV 5000's running a VL width diff anyway so wheels fit in the guards perfectly.
