having problems with my vn

hey guys
im having some troubles with my vn
1 my thermo fan does not work at all sometimes it does work very little

2 car overheats (water boils up in bottle )

gear lights not working ie p r n d d 2 1 light doesnt turn on if you gus know anything that could help please let me know thnks guys

The problem with light around the gearshift will most likely be that the globe is blown. It wil be easy to see and fix by just removing the trim around the gearshift (it simply pulls out, with 2 clips on either side).

If the thermo fan isn't working, that will cause the overheating. The fan should be working with the A/C on. If it isn't, you can look further. Putting a jumper wire across the terminals (on the car) switched side of the relay, pins 87 and 30, ignition on, will tell you if the fan is working OK or not. If it is, try another relay (one from another circuit on the car will serve for the purpose of testing) or you're looking at the switching side of the system which involves the ECM and associated wiring. One possibility on this side is the coolant temp. sensor.

If the car is leaking coolant somewhere, that can also result in overheating.

The water boiling up in the bottle sounds really strange. Are you sure it is boiling and not gas coming from a blown head gasket? If it's gas you have a serious problem.
