hey all,
just wondering if it is possible if vt irs would go straight into a vn?

Nope the rear section of the floor is different on the IRS cars. They say the IRS Commodores make a slighter better circuit racing car than the live axel cars, especaily with some extra rods bolted onto the arms so the toe and camber dont go as crazy when you corner. Unless you are making a circuit with some suspension mods it's not really worth having anywayit weighs alot more which is probably the only reason the IRS cars have more traction in a straight line. If you REALLY want to make a IRS VN, you need to find a VP roller with IRS and start from there
ok thnx foamy, well thats that idea gone, so how much would it be to get lsd but keep same gearing?

To just get a lsd centre in your VN? or in the VT?. It's fairly easy to swap centres in a IRS car if you don't change the gears, little bit harder in a solid axel because the adjustments aren't spin around adjustable like one the irs, then again you might not have to adjust it at all
its for the vn, the vt is nothing what i expected so thats why i gave it to the missus and got another 5ltr and i missed my last 5ltr too much, like they say once you own a v8 its very hard to go back to a six.
what would it cost to get lsd put in or is it easy enough to do it myself cos i do all my own work anyway and where would i be looking to get the parts to make it lsd?

You just need the centre. You can buy brand new ones from ebay for about 500. Or you can find them secondhand for 200ish, even cheaper on a good day or so just depends on your luck. It's doable, I put mine in myself and changed the gears too. Changing the gears is the most complex part. I don't think it costs much to have one put in at a diff shop either
