Default What are VN Aero's Worth these days?

I have had my Genuine HDT VN Aero for the past 6 years, I'm wondering what they might be worth these days, it's running like clock work, body is straight, no damage, original HDT Aero 15" wheels (in white) etc etc?

I'm thinking about selling it, but not too sure if it would be worth keeping or not.

Anybody have any idea? It would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on the overall condition of the car, if it has all the relevant paperwork, all HDT parts are there and in good condition, what base vehicle they used, V6 or V8, what extras were selected...........

I have all the HDT paperwork, all HDT parts are in excellent condition (except one of the original rims, slight graze as clipped a gutter) it was an exec base, 5.0ltr V8. The only mods I have done are: Turbo 350 (3 speed) shift kit 2.5 stall, 9 inch LSD with 3.55 gears, Port & polished heads, cam & chip package and 3" exhaust from cat back.

VLDavo: what build number is it?

It's build #15 (White Base AERO)

I've got a 5" Monster tacho (Changes from green to blue light background) and minor things like that, but that's all my performance mods.

I will advertise it for sale in the classifieds on this site and see how I go.

Let me know if anyone might be interested

Not really, I have made improvements to some weaker parts of the car. After a certain time, these things need to be replaced, so why not replace them with the tough stuff!

The car is still an original, still the original block, body, chassis and interior.

Nope. The car cannot be an original. "Improving" limited build cars like that will almost always limit your potential market and lower it's overall value. That is exactly why I sold my GTS to Mack. The car is something special but didn't fit with what I wanted and it would have been a crying shame to modify it so I sold it and am very happy that Mack respects it's exclusivity (sp?). Since then I have bought a new toy which is nearing the end of it's build and will be revealed shortly.

    I dont think he has.
Sure its not completely 'standard' any more, but the engine work should be respected by potential buyers. The shift kit and diff gears may seem excessive to some people(not me), but stuff like shift light's and 'add-ons" should be removed.
Anyway a white one in VGC with that engine work, id ask $10k+ easily.

Shift kit and diff gears......you don't know much about cars do you.
He has fitted a non standard diff and trans, of which there is no need with the limited power.

I'm not really a car "enthusiast", I changed the diff and gearbox due to recommendations, I was told the shift kit would provide a better/smoother means of transition between the gears. I still have the original diff and box (TH700). The Tacho can simply be removed as this is not bolted on anywhere.

I would leave the parts on the car as is when it comes time to sell and include the original parts in the sale to make it completely original.

But based on technicalities, The car is an Original HDT Aero SII build #15 with all papers and tags to go with! So 10-12k would be a reasonable price to sell it at!

I'd be doing that - put the 350 on ebay or whatever so you can show it working in the car and sell it that way.

If you can make the car stock standard original again, without ****ing up anything, and i mean anything, you might be sitting on about 12 grand plus, if not its just another VN V8 with a body kit.

I'm getting the diff swapped over on the weekend, along with the box.

Going to advertise the parts in the tradingpost once this is completed....

What would the going rates be for the following:

9" Diff LSD with 3.55 gears

    &

TH350 with 2500 Stall Converter & Stage 2 Shift Kit

Just wanna know what to set the prices at, these parts were bought new and only been driven 2000 km's on. Both still in mint condition as I never drive the thing.

my mate has an aero, totally worked 5l, 5 speed, 2 way lsd, vy purple paint, 19's etc etc he got offered 18 grand then 22 grand but nocked them back, and the shell of the car isnt geuine but every single thing else is.

shows that some people will pay whatever if it appeals to them, but imo i would pay more for somthing thats totally stock and immaculate with all papers.

Hahaha - then it isn't an Aero and he should have taken it!
