Default Fitting side indicators to a VN

    Hey guys,

I have seen a few VN's with VP/VR/VS/VT side indicators fitted. I was just wondering has anyone on here done that, and how difficult is it to do? Will I have to remove the front gaurds and how will I go about running wires to them?

    Cheers,

    Sam

i thought vn's didnt have side indicaters, but y wud you want them ne way, it looks cleaner without them on, if u really wanted them u cud get vp guards or cut a hole in ur guards to fit them

Nah, the VN's don't have indicators or wiring. I just thought having some clear VT indicators would look ok. I agree that nothing there looks smooth, but I just wanted something a little different.

dont think its as simple as connecting them to the original lights. something to do with the speed they light up at. best example would be like when one indicator blows, the other on the same side starts flicking faster. so im guessing, without installing the proper loom from a vp, your indicators will flash slower

Nah it doesnt. My VZ SS flute indicators run off my front indicators and it made no different.

Step 1: Grab VQ S2 guards with the holes cut or cut your own holes in the guards.

    Step 2: Grab the lights.

Step 3: run the wires to the front indicators and just use 3-way ezi taps (dick smiths sell packs of 10 for $4)... Slip it over the indicator wire and run the new wire into the other hole then use pliers to clip it shut and your done. Repeat for other wire, then do other side of the car.

Thanks heaps for that 1991_Vn2nV. Very helpful. I was looking at the VZ flutes. But maybe just go with the clear vt/vx ones.

So, if I use my original gaurds, I will have to remove them and cut out the hole?

    Cheers

nice idea with the vq guards. never thought of that. beats using the **** vp indicators.
one problem, if you tap into the indicator loom that way, and the globe blows in one of the front indicators, but not the side one, im guessing it wont flash any faster, so you may not know if it has blown from inside the car?

what are you worried about side indicators for?

if your indicators work then they work.
