Hey everyone atm i have my old engine in my car as i get my p's soon so i need the car in running shape as my new engine still isnt done yet.
I have not started the engine for a while and i did today before and after i gave it new oil, spark plugs etc.etc (basicly a full service) and there is a goldish colour liquid coming from the exhaust now i dont know if this is for a short amount of time or does it all the time as i havnt had the chance to go out for a drive.
It also basicly dies just after i give it a small rev. I know its got **** all fuel in it and also battery is on its way out.
I have pictures of what is coming out of the exhaust any hope of finding out how to stop it or if it is normal. Just doesnt look to good to me.
Edit - Also during last year the CAS went in this engine and i have replaced it so it isnt that. im thinking coilpack?
Also tried doing a fault code check and came up as code 12 made me even more confused...

The brown crap looks like condensation from an engine hasn't been hot in a long time. Give it a good run to get it good and warm. As for the dying bit - put some fuel in it to begin with.

Thanks mate yeah i know i have to put fuel in it tomorrow so i will give it a good run in then and reply back tomorrow if it did stop or not.
Unless I miss my guess, that's coolant mixed with rusty water.
If its coming out of the exhaust its water with rust in it.
Lkie you said, its been sitting for a while and has probably caught a bit of rain or condensation.
water in the exhaust pipe is common and its common for exhaust guys to change an exhaust that looks ok from the outside but has rusted from the inside from this problem.
Its no biggie
has it been sitting in the rain?
does it blow white smoke?
the car dying after a rev may be water in the petrol, I am not 100% on that but it sounds suspicous.
Has it been sitting in the rain?
what model is it BTW?
You shouldnt let it run dry as if you have an intank fuel pump it can cause damage because the petrol is used to cool
the pump engine and running it dry is not good for it.
Maybe you should fill er up with about $30.00 of premium then see how it goes.
cheers
