hey guys,
im currently trying to find some spots to install my gauges on my vn one idea i thought of was to mount them into the gear surround plastic just right off the manual shifter boot.but being that thin of a plastic was just curious if anyone has tried this and just ended up cracking it and looking crap.if anyone has a picture of someone who has already done this, id like to see it.
has anyone tried drilling through the gear surround plastic before?
Why dont you drill adequate holes then use nuts and bolts if in fear of cracking it with a screw.
the only real thing i was worried about is actually cracking the plastic when trying to drill out the whole for gauge to sit in.
you should be pretty right if you use a hole saw and take it slow, but down beside the gear shifter is different but its hard to see the gauges while driving, but yeah just take it slow when drilling
cheers, nick
alright thanks for the hint =).
yeah its just for oil temp and presure, will look into mounting boost gauge somewhere alot more driver freindly
yeah i have mine mounted in the centre where the cd player goes, and i just find i have to keep looking down at them to see whats happening and stuff, but yeah i have seen them there before except beside the hand brake,
