VN idles rough won't Rev, I changed the coil pack (VP) to another (VP) it ran for about two minutes fine revved out fine but when went to go for a test drive it started doing it again almost straight away, I checked the aldl got code 12 hmm? checked fuel filter no probs. seems to be $#%@ing up coil packs but I don't know why. also every time I get out of the car I get a wild static shock from the door. I got the coil packs from a wrecker saw him take it off an engine that was outside too????? hmm?? but I think it is still something else????
Could be leads - they can fail under load.

could be a bad earth problem, are you sure it doing coil packs all the time, its not jsut losing fuel pressure or something? jsut a thought
check your leads, check for fouled plugs, bad earth from your battery.
If was it was leads or plugs it would not have run properly for the first two minutes after installing the coil pack? so that means it must be something else I am considering the fuel pump as when turn ignition on its very soft to hear I had it off the road now for about three months and from what I can remember it was louder???? thanks though for the suggestions!!!
try the lume were it plugs into the coil pack sounds like what mine does and I just gotta play with the coil plug and its all good again for a bit and when it keeps doinit to often I just tighten the plugs in the plug and off we go again.
thanx for the input however when I said the engine ran fine for the first two minutes do you think that I only ran it at idle??? I revved it out to see if it would break down as it had before hand, It ran fine. I then proceeded to reverse out my driveway and when I put it in drive it was still fine I got about 50 metres down the road when I noticed the acceleration was deteriating and within 150 metres from my drive it was back the way it was before I changed the coil pack so I think maybe the fuel system has something to do with it because the car had sat for three months until today. I've been reading the workshop manual and from the troubleshooting sections it seems that it could be the fuel pump, the exhaust system, the plugs(not cause engine ran fine when first started through the rev range) or the ecu
leads...... i had a problem with coil packs dying in the VS, new coil and ignition was much better, then slowly got worse again, i changed coils twice. finally changed the leads again and all is fine now. at least try some leads from a mates car and see what happens

Reving it out of gear is not under load. Anyway it may not be the leads and could be lots of things.
Leads are not strong and do fail over time - bend here bend there.....
How old are the leads on the car - if 6 mths no problem keep looking - if they are 5 years or something like that - put newies in.

i would say leads aswell
check you DFI plug is good.
check yr CAS they can also go and wont hold the signal at higher revs.
probably just a good check.

ok thanx will try leads I still think its something more serious though but just can't put my finger on just what it might be I know it's not the fuel that's fine a friend is seeing if he can get me a fuel pump free so will see if it is that I think more likely is the cas or maybe a capacitor in the ecu is gone that does happen and could cause these sort of issues??
