Hey Guys (and girls)
I'm looking at getting a alarm that has a imobilizer that basically sorta like if you dont disarm the imobiliser then the engine cuts off and the headlights or indicaters start flashing and attract britney spears(not really but I hope you get the point lol).
I'm looking at all this central locking and stuff with remotes and I'm confused.. With my vn all I have to do is put the key in the drivers door and unlock it and then all the doors unlock... is that central locking? if so then how do people usually wire up the remotes to it?
also I've seen people coment on the mongoose alarms and the rhino alarms and some people say there crap and some people say their not..
Just locking at some pointers mainly on what to get.
Thanks boys![]()
mate, i just got an alarm/imobiliser from strathfield for 200 bucks including install and its no fancy brand but it works a treat and has the option to connect up central locking (which you have) i have it and i couldnt be happier![]()
thanks for your imput gimpy.. I was looking at the rhino stuff on ebay and they look ok.. I'll be in town tomorrow (I live in bannockburn, vic and live 28km from the cbd of geelong) so I'll drop into strathfield and see what I can scope out
.
More input mostly appreciated.. if there is any
Thanks

I would stay away from alarms and such on ebay, I bought a few dodgy ones. Mainly they won't replace anything if its faulty cos they can say that you stuffed it or if it was broken during deliverly.
If you going to install it yourself, i'd get any alarm form stratfield or such. Black wire ones are pain to install and trouble shoot if you stuff up.
I've got a vision alarm and stand alone key fob immoboliser. Pain to install, but hard to steal. Also most alarm modules will have the central locking stuff built in, you just have to find the unlock and lock wires and connect them to the alarm module.
Thanks for your input stockies. Didn't get to go to strathfield today I was painting my center console as an idea stolen off a thread where a girly is doing up her vn v8 (same colour as mine but I forget the link to which its on
) except mines a v6 as I am under the power to weight restriction as I'm a Victorian.
