This started happening to me, only on days with temp over 30 degrees. A few weeks later after it would stall it began not being able to start. Ended up being CAS and a new fuel pump. Hasnt done it since. Hope yours isnt the same.
well next time it stalls listen for your fuel pump to see if its still running.... being a ute they are pretty noisy anyway
but if it stalls and the pump is running pour some water on the CAS as that usually gets things moving again... if that fixes it then replace the CAS
its actually my mates car not mine, have changed fuel pumps before (four times) and have done a couple of CAS, both are easy jobs if your prepaired for them, dont think CAS would be effected by ambient temp as much as fuel pump would, might start there.

thats a tuff looking block youve got there hispeedvp. i hope theres some good bits to go in it.... btw is your ute an SS ute or a Group A ute because the 2 are quite different. write back.
love Bunky_vp
you got a second hand cas ?
next time it happens get some Ice from wherever and get a cube or two and hold it against the CAS for a minute ... then try start the car .. will give you answer right away .. also water will work but not so quickly unless its very chilled.
