It kicks in to first ok but very slow to second....Does the kickdown need adjusting and if so how do u do it....I watched someone do it but forgot if it goes from left to right....any help appreciated...Cheers![]()
do you mean that when you accelerate normally, it holds 1st gear for too long?
When i take off its fine but it takes time to change again...
sorry to ask again but do you mean the actual gear change itself is slow, or it is revving to like 4000rpm before it changes?
maybe your trans is slipping, when was the last time you got it serviced?

id say its the kickdown cable as when my car first went on the road (after i brought it) from first to second reved up around 4000-4500 so i adjusted kickdown cable as it was wayyyyyyyy out.....changes like a dream now
to adjust it u need to (under bonnet) locate the cable which is near the throttle cable....press the metal tab in and pulll the outer caseing out ...let it flop there ..relese the metat tab, then open the throlttle up and the cable shoud move through and stop at the correct spot however it may need to be helped (pushed a littel)
hope that helps
tried this and seems ok....but second gear still slow to change too...revs out
