I have a VP berlina was looking at a VR berlina BCM with 2 key heads.. How hard would it be to wire up the VR BCM into my car? Is it even possible at all? Thanks in advance.
Not sure its possible.... ill say it is cos most things are but youll need the ecu too...
ask DR. Bob, hes really good with this kind of stuff...
aZk.
If the vp doesnt have a bcm and you want to install one from a vr there are plenty of headaches...I did it to a vn and I put a vr loom /dash cluster etc complete as well but even then it wasnt plug and play..of course the vp immobiliser as far as isolating the ecu wont work and the key pickup has to be installed making it necessary to enlarge the hole in the steering column shroud around keyhole .I suppose if you stripped the wiring from a wrecked vr from the 3 bcm connectors and associated wiring keyhead pickup its possible if you are prepared for considerable drama.
Example of one of many headaches I encountedthe headlights auto off when the door is opened and engine is off is done by the bcm....to turn headlights on or off for a vp the headlight relay switches the positive side and feeds a constant negative to the actual light...on a vr/s it feeds a constant positive and switches the negative making it necessary to rearrange wires in the headlights to suit.
