    Default Level 3 dash conversion

    Hey there all.
I got a level 3 dash the other day and want to install it in my VPSS but found I need to do a lot of rewiring to get it done.
As I'm not electrically minded with cars is there anywhere on the NSW Central Coast that can help me????

Maybe throw it up in the NSW section mate, a few guys have thrown up for help in the SA section for a carton or whatever and a few people have said they'd be willing to lend a hand if beer is supplied

Here ia a one drama you will probably have when doing the Level 3 install is the interior light delay(if one is fitted on your vp)...the electronics for it in L2 dash cars is where the L3 cars have the trip computer buttons on the l/h switchblock. You can wire it up so it doesnt have one (interior light goes out straight away when you shut the door)or what I did is mounted that part of the circuit in a small box remotely and teed of the wires running to the switchblock
Also apart from the light delayI found the easiest way to get everything to work is use the printed circuitboard out of a vn exect and take out the vp one and install it into the vp switchblock/buttons.
I have all the wiring spare (no4 connector etc)here for the vp L3 dash install if you are keen and I could probably guide you through it ...you just have to be handy with a soldering iron to tee off some of your existing wires.
When I did it I made up a few diagrams to help me if I had any problems with it that you could use as a guide.

Yes but you will have to move a few wires back to where they were originally in a couple of instrument connectors....you have to move some 4 wires in a instrument connector (out and back in) forward one spot and run a extra wire from one to another so the press remote feed goes to the right bulb for the l3 install....as well as the extra no4 connector wiring.
Heres the extra wiring details http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...p-dash-mod.jpg

Sounds like a big job either way but do-able. How do you want to sell the 4th connector?
