    Default strong fuel smell in VQ 5ltr??

    just lately i been coppin a reallly strong fuel smell in my VQ 5Ltr.. 1st thought was maybe injectors r leaking, checked them and they seem to be okay.. anyone got any other thoughts on what it could be??

    Fuel Rail o rings? Smell coming from the engine bay? My 5l had the o rings go on the fuel rails, pop off your covers and have a look.

    Yeah it could be from the orings on top of the injector or the fuel lines that join onto the rail. Either way get it fixed before the car burns

    where is the smell exactly in the car? if its nething like mine was could b all ur breather hoses on the fuel filler pipe

    Yeah fuel tank breather hoses are common for this, I would be checking them as well.

    had the same problem, turned out to be the fuel breather hoses - had perished through. Tell youwhat, the fuel consumption certainly improved once they were replaced.

    okay found what it is.... not sure if its a fuel breather hose, but its comin from the tank just behind the rear right wheel? its completely perished.. gettin fixed tuesday...
