Is ute diff same as sedan

Hi people

I have a 1991 Commodore ute, the diff is knackered and I need to get a second hand one in this weekend.
Question; is the ute diff the same as a sedan or do I have to find a specific ute one?

Ideally I want to go to the wreckers unbolt a car diff and bolt it in to the ute.

They are different. The shock absorber mounts are different and will not fit in a ute.

I believe utes and wagons have the same diff, though Someone confirm this?

the wagon one will fit in a ute but it does not have the rubber mounts which are on the ute ones

i have fitted a wagon one to a friends ute and it work fine no dofference till he decided to do a burnout one day and blew it
