the diffs are the same...V8 tailshafts have 100mm diameter center CV joints. good upgrade for a V6 making some power..... but apart form that i think they are the same lengths.

the diffs are identical and will bolt straight up. the driveshaft uses a flange arrangment to bolt to the diff, the flanges are the same for V6/V8.

never knew that about the universals. will need to check that next time i have a V8 laying about

Does the above also apply for IRS ?

And does anyone know if its possible to find lockers for the IRS diffs?

I rang CMP in Perth (I work at a large retail parts store) and got laughed at basically. And told a Mig welder was the only option.
I refuse to weld the diff as I have seen the result of a weld breaking and locking the diff up at high speed. Nasty!

the IRS has the same center as the live axle setup. if it's a standard open diff you can fit a spool or if you wish a detriot locker or airlocker as you please. if it's already LSD you need to get yourself and open diff center to do the conversion.
