Ok another question how about a LSD with mini spool?
A mate just said the LSD mini spool would be too much on the street specially in the wet.
is 3.08 mini spool a 28 spline?

You can not have a LSD and mini spool, it's that simple.

correct me if im wrong but isn't the VN 28 spline BW78 and the VP 25 spline BW78...?
Gone Fishing...
all BW78 diffs are 28 spline from VL onwards. only the BW78 diffs fitted to the later VK's had 25 spline axles.

The guy is full of ****! That is not an LSD hemisphere, its just a plain old single wheeler hemisphere with a mini spool in it
As Everyone else has said, you cant fit a mini spool in an LSD centre, it needs to be a single wheeler centre to be able to accept a mini spool....simple! Your mate is definately pulling your leg.....or he doesnt know anything himself!
Immortallity: Only VLT 6 cylinders & v8's were 28 spline, all N/A VL 6 cylinders were 25 spline. But yes, all VN onwards are 28 spline.
Nah my mate wasnt meaning what i had wrote above sorry my bad for putting it like that, he was tellin me lsd or a mini spool the size i was looking at would be bad. He recomended a 3.5 LSD. Im guessing that would be close to a banjo ratio. And yeah when i saw that ebay item i was thinking how the hell does the splines run on that lol. The message he sent me on my mobile had LSD/mini spool..was me makin him and me look dumber lol.
3.08 is the stock ratio... The higher (as in 3.45/3.7/3.9) you go the more trouble you would have in the wet because of better acceleration. So what your mate is saying still does not make sense. But at the same time, LSD will give you more traction. LSD is much easier to handle in the wet, but a mini spool may give you problems cornering if you don't know how to drive a mini-spooled car.
Yes well mini spool LIKE HELL lol, he just put his mini spool in his vx supercharged, and like hell am i gettin a mini spool. Coppers would never leave you alone, in a straight line his car is still freakin as awesome as ever but cornering omg carries on something shocking. But he got his rip shift in to thats awesome. Mini spool on the streets no way lol. Bunting and carrying on sheesh stuff that see how it goes at the drags next saturday.
i got 4.11 diff gears adn spool in my vp and its 28 spline goes bit better heaps off fun too

The way i see it if you mini spool and it pig roots u just need to hit the corners with both wheels blazing rubber, otherwise rotate daily lmao.
Im a little angry i got home so late, i missed a LSD for 91 bucks on ebay...

I want get my VN diff changed to a mini-spool with 4.11 gears. Do I have to get the memcal edited/adjusted?
Well my mate hasnt had to retune and he went the 4.11. Lucky for his wallet to lol.
you won't need a retune but your speedo will be out. a jaycar speedo corrector kit will fix this problem. see below
