    Question Button doesn't open boot

Button in the glovebox doesn't open the boot, works if someone pushes on the bootlid while the button is pressed... can hear the sound but it doesn't unlatch. Is this just a matter of adjusting in the same way as tightening the manual boot release cable in a VR? (Screws and slider near boot lock, did it in my VR last week) I'd just have a look but my VN bootlid is coated in Dynamat.

The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to remove the external boot lock altogether. As a precaution, is it particularly difficult to set up a manual boot release handle inside the boot like the VYs etc have? In case this problem comes back

    Cheers
    Sam

I've had that problem since i replaced the boot rubber seal. It still opens, but you have to press it about 3 times in a row, or as you said, put some pressure onto it.

Not sure how to fix it, but i figured my problem was the rubber was too thick, and just needed to mould into place.

adjusting the height of the boot can help too. i adjusted mine down so the spoiler would sit in line all round and it became a bit of a pain in the but to open. hot days especially.

you need to adjust the metal bracket that the boot clip sits in once the boot is closed. there is a 14mm nutt i think, slightly undo the bolt and slide the bracket either up or down to adjust it to make your boot open.

Obviously you do that while in the boot? And if so, obviously with the middle seat open so you can get back out. My mates are the kind that would be happy to let you spend the night in your own boot, just for laughs.

You can do it with the boot open. Loosen the nut, tap the bracket up a bit, check the button, keep going until it opens.

I'd rather just get the rubber set like the previous one, otherwise my lines wont line up (As Pauls spoiler didn't line up)

sorry i wote it wrong (i was refering to what the clip sits in) not that you actually have to do it when its closed lol, that would be fun, but it wouldnt work.

hmm. The more I think about it, the more I want that boot lock gone. It's in an annoying place, like a Holden badge, but worse.. The car will look so much smoother without it.

OMG I WANT A GREY VN SS

lol oops that just came out by itself what do you reckon a VN SS 3 piece spoiler would look like with my bodykit?? all in white, obviously... serious question

i think it needs something smoother, like an aero spoiler.

Get a flip down number plate bracket and put the key hole behind that. I've seen it done on an XB Falcon, looks good.

hmmm, nah I like the clean look and I don't mind if it takes 2 people to open the boot, I think I'll just remove that lock altogether. Good idea though

And stealthy, I'm not really a fan of the stand apart spoilers (for lack of a better phrase), I love the moulded look. The SS or Group A are my only options really, but I think the Group A one would look ridiculously too big. Maybe.

haha I don't know what I think.. and with spoilers it's not like you can just try them on .. at least not with a 3 piece!!

haha ok mate, will do. You should get one of those VN Calais HBD option badges, the standup ones. That'd look right at home on your car. Get rid of the lion badge and slap one of those on there

How's things anyway dude? haven't spoken for ages :'(
