Ok heres a situation that is possible, a mate has just got a turbo for his pintara (will do 10 psi easily). Now heres the hypothetical... i have a good idea it hasnt got a chance of fitting and i think i might be able to repurchase it from him... Another delema my supercharger is almost ready to drop in. How much stuffing around can you see there being if i supercharge and turbo? I know the manifold piping but ive got it going in this week for intercooler pipe work already.. Anyone see any big problems?
Simply your engine wont handle it.Some of the big trucks use a setup like that where they have a supercharger and a turbo to help produce enough power for pulling.Simply on a normal street drievn or some tack day use cars is very pointless. It is possible but your need to reduce the compression on the engine.I cant see it lasting any longer than a couple of hours if you were to do that.

But i have ownly ever seen that sort of setup once on a street car, this was in the states when i was over there a few years ago,it was on a early model camaro 60's model, with a 350 chev stroked and had alloys head 4 bolt mains, had a 6/71 fisher blower and 2 turbos at the front of the engine where the manifolds from the exhaust come around to the front.I heard it run and sounded just like a drag car.I couldnt remember what he was saying about the motor build up but it cost him alot for the engine to be built blueprinted and balanced and precision machined all parts i think he also mentioned special parts being made out of titanium.Really this was a up and comming show car.

Ok so ill scrub that out then lol.
Although turbo would be preferable to the sc14
Would be a royal nightmare having the two, firstly fitting them both and plumbing would be very difficult. then theres alot of engine bay heat which would cook stuff, and once its all done some lucky person would have a hard time tuning the thing.
Have seen someone do it before on an rb30 though.
Power is measured in DECIBEL
i've seen it done on a 90's model corolla. he installed the factory supercharged engine, very similar blower to sc14 but smaller capacity, then installed a turbo. the blower would handle the low down torque off the line then the turbo would take over up the top end through a very clever pipe setup.
hasnt someone done this to an ecotec? v6 on here
Ive seen an article in SMC about some dude who blew his 5L engine in his VL doing a burnout, so he bought the rb20? nissan engine and turbo for 1.5k and apparently gets 200+kw from a 2 litre engine, can that conversion be done to a VN?
u could do it but theres no real point unless u just wanted the wank factor of it... stick to one or the other for a street driven car..
but i have seen some cool setups
there was an orange/red lj torana in street machine mag a few years ago that had a supercharged and twin turboed engine
lol and way way back i think it was the first or second summernats chick henry brought out this mad car from the states that was twin supercharged and twin turboed absoloute crazy engine setup..
wrecking VL COMMODORE 5 speed

it has been done on a vl commodore before, check out the youtube vid, it's pretty awesome really, it seems to haul arse LOL:

A pintara is either going to have a ca20de or a ka24de engine in it unless it has had an engine conversion and there is nothing at all special about either of them. 10psi with even something as small as a garrett t28 (factory fitted on the nissan sr20 2l 4 pot) the engine wont last too long, he is boosting a small capacity N/A engine..... even still, if he has picked the turbo well it will probably be totally useless on a 3.8L engine. the exhaust trim and turbine on the turbo will be too small and the compressor side will simply just not flow enough to feed the copacity of the engine. just drive yours while he is puting a new engine in his.

those big truck setups arnt actually supercharging the engine, It was used on Detroit 2 stroke diesels and the blower (not super charger) is used to help scavenge the exhaust out of the cylinder.

Dont waste your money on an Rb20. Than engine lacks badly in off boost and even on boost torque from low down and through the mid revrange, they are a revvy gutless POS. 200rwkw rb20 in a vn would be slow, you need a torquey engine to get a commy tank moving not revvy jap stuff that was meant to be in a 1200kg car driving in mountains.
