Its difficult to make a V6 sound good. The onyl one i've heard, was a Turbo Ecotec.

A twin 3in is overkill for a stock V6 also, look at a single 2.5 at the biggest.

Being a V6 also u shouldnt b spending much more than 1500 and thats only coz u want twins straight through and bein 3" prolly wouldnt b ideal unless u plan 2 supercharge it or somthing. as stealthy said go the 2.5 u should get all that 4 around $1000 + headers

Even 2.5 is overkill in a stock V6, Id just get extractors, leave your standard exhaust piping but get the center muffler changed to a Lukey straight through then remove the rear resinator.
I have this set up on mine, minus cat. And it sounds orsm!

i wouldnt even get extractors id just get a mandrel bent 2.5 inch with a straight through mufffler in the middle and a hot dog at the end or straight thru pipe
all this in mild steel will be under 500

Best V6 i ever heard had advance headers and a 2.5 inch redback system. it sounded racey as, not the shocking tin can drone noise most others make.

    No, unless you change motors.

A 3in is over the top because there is too much flow. You will lose power doing things this way. Thats just right for a V8. My Twin 2.5 is overkill for my stock V8, but i don't care about power, i want decent sound!

Twin 2in maybe, if they make an exhaust that small.

I don't see any benefit from having a twin system tho

what kind of mods are planned. 3 inch is overkill because your car will never be working hard/fast enough to utilise the whole 3inch diameter, so it's a waste. and you're talking about dual 3 inch so that's crazy! it won't make it sound better either. the only time you need dual 3 inch is if you were boosting it and even then you'd be running crazy boost. and so the answer is no, you don't have to do the whole exhaust if you do engine mods. get a single 2.5 inch cat back with straight through muffler and no resonator, $600 maximum. get a good brand muffler like lukey. seeing as you've got $2000 i'd definitely get pacemaker/lukey headers and maybe a hi-flow cat as well. couple that with a CAI and custom tune (talk to greenfoam on the forums) with the left over money and you've got a mean machine. still should be way under $2000 for all that!

You can get a twin tip made up easily enough. Either fake or working. Having a ute, you have the benefit of a tank not in the way. Whatever exhaust shop you go to can help make this up for you.

Yep on a V6 too because you can get a X pipe in there for some extra scavenging. Still not worth the cost on a V6, most things aren't. Why have 115 rwkw for 3 grand when you can have 105 for free, that's what I say

I run a 2.5i Redback Catback sys Single Muffler cheap but effective. (on my v6)

No tip or Resinator just straight out the back (tips make them sound pox)

i had this system on before i put the pacemakers on and it sounds pretty much the same now as it did then. the headers just made it bark a little more.

On my last vn (s1 v6) i ran a genie turbo Staineless 2.5i single muffler system and it sounded pretty much the same as thus one. but cost like 300 more.

I would've thought any 'gain' would be lost from backpressure.

Pacemaker headers with a 2.5" system with one muffler and a standard cat. I wouldn't bother with anything else.
