    Default vn overheating in traffic

    hey guys

my vn is overheating in traffic, the guy who had it before said a hose blew and he said that he had no idea what he was doin when he reatached them. i think the problem is on the left side of the engine where a few hoses connect to a little black pump looking thing. There are two hoses not connected and yeh i was wondering if anyone has a diagrame, or if it is in the manual so i can get one. or if anyone can describe it to me that would be appreciated.

    cheers.

I would be checking your thermo fan is working. If the Thermo fan is not working, it will overheat in slow or stopped traffic. Are you sure the blakc pump you describe is not the carbon canister? the carbon canister has two lines on it, and is located next to the battery and close to the radiator. Get some pics of how its all set up and what your not sure about. Also test your thermo, either run your car in park until the temp comes up, the thermo should come on before the gauge is half way. Alternativly it should come on straight away when the air con is on.

Run the aircon in traffic as well, that will keep the thermo fan on before it gets too hot.
