lol yeh thats very tru bout the falcons and yeh it would be a belt, on mine it was the alternator belt and when the engine warms up the rubber sticks so it stops screeching

hey mate, buy some velvet leather soap and with the car running press it against the belt. it will stop the noise. my old mans ed falcon is shocking for it but the soap stops it sr8 away

i had the same problem on my vp v6... i soaped it (sunlight...) and that worked for alittle while... there is a spray you can get (which was useless) but i ended up changing the belt & kept the oldy as a spare (after a while i got bored scaring little old ladies with the scream that it produced..... hehehehe)...

while you have it in bits it might be worth checking the alightment of all the pulleys... twasnt long after that that the water pump went on the fritz. might have been connected, might not...cheers

Might be a dodgy idler pulley too.

    Soap works for a while.
Stop Squeal (the spray stuff) I havent tried.

you can do it, there is a new kit out or you can just get an extra powersteer pulley and machine that width off the crank pulley and use a 1 inch gilmer belt.
