the other day i put another fuel sender in the car with a new fuel pump and put it all back together and put 8L of fuel and it primed and the pump made a real bad noise like it wasnt getting any fuel could it have been put it wrong? not sitting on the bottem.
Well today i went to pull it out and see what the problem was and there was only a couple of drops of fuel and when i jacked the car up there was a leak coming from the return line, i wiggled it around and it was look not the hose the metal bit that goes into the fuel tank, and then it came out so is it fixable? or am i up for another fuel tanki just painted it to any reply is a good reply i hope :P

had the same hassle with mine a few years ago, its factory press fitted in there.
i tried using some sealer putty from supercheap which worked to get me home as i was 1100klms away from home at the time, just placed it around the tube from the tank to the return line hose, better to do when the tank is empty or close to it as the weeping dissolves the putty !!!, Ended up replacing the stock tank with an 85lt shortly after getting home because i was heading upto kakadu from wollongong.
.
Yeah so basically its a thro away job. damnit i was going for a roadworthy soon lol
that was another thought of getting a V8 tank in it is there any hassles cause they run a dual pump can the sender out of a v6 fit a v8? thanx 4 the reply

no big drama just use the pump and sender from your old tank and get some new tank straps for the bigger tank they are still available from holden, only other thing i know i had dun on my calias was to change the 60l-80l on back of my series 3 cluster and all sweet. Cheers
What about the L2 cluster do you have to change anything? and wont the v6 sender not touch the bottom of the tank and the float wont go all the way up and down?
