    Cool clunking...

I would go to another suspension place..... they shouldnt charge for looking......its in the front?????tie rod end might need tightening...... just get a mate around, u lie down under the front, and get ure mate to push it up & down....(bonnet up might help him hear where it is coming from).....then take it to the mechanic.........

Check the lower ball joints, and all the control arm / antisway bushes. Just grab hold of them and rock (should hear the clonk) or get a mate to bounce up and down around the bonnet while you look.

    Check the strut bearing caps.

Has this started happening after you did stuff the the car (brake upgrade etc.) or has it just started on its own ?

Mine used to do that so I replaced the rack ends which were buggered, and had everything up the front end tightened. Knocking stopped and the car felt much better for it.

ok iv takin it to a mechanic we went for a drive it made no noise what so ever soon as i got out of the drive way it started again checked if it was a weight issue put one of me mate in the car kept doin it and iv narrowed it down to 2 thing its ither the shockie or the flamin cat i hit the other month has come back to haunt me so it has me very confused.
as to "Has this started happening after you did stuff the the car (brake upgrade etc.) or has it just started on its own ?" question no the s pac came standard with V8 brakes and V8 brake booster as well as FE2 suspension so i havnt touched it yet.

Hey, I had a similar knock sound from engine bay, more prevalent when I hit bumps etc, turned out the rubber bush the bonnet sits on adj to hinge was stuffed and the bonnet was bouncing and knocking. Quick check grab bonnet near windscreen at corners and see if it will move, try drivers and passenger side. You never know.
