The Getrag is hydrolic clutch, the SS will be cable clutch.

That will be one thing you will need to change.

T5s are a decent box, i don't think you'll have any problems unless you drive extremely hard. If you do, you can always get a TKO or T56 box.

Whats wrong with a the T5 box?I have one in my VN 5L,T5's are good to handle up to 400hp,and i have also seen a couple of e series falcons and commodores with standard T5's with over 500hp at the engines.I used to own a ED XR6 turbo with a T5 had no dramas with it.What id suggest you should do is when you have purchased this VN SS drive it for awhile then see what performance mods would suit you. Most common things to do would be extractors/high flow cat/twin 2.5 or single 3 inch exhaust, cold air intake, good tune/service,slightly bigger cam with some head porting, bigger throttle body, roller rockers, get your memcal remapped. That would be a good start, maybe some 3.7's or 3.9's in the diff. With these mods the standard T5 will handle them easy.

Advantage of the T5, is that I believe the clutches are FAR easier and cheaper to replace. That's something to think about.

You would just need a different bellhousing, and maybe input shaft.

And depending on the clutch type, I'm not sure if Ecotecs have cable or not.

Email Mal Wood, and he'll be able to tell you for sure (and supply you what you need)

If you spend the $$$$ can build a f-ing strong T5. Just don't expect much change out of $4000.
