I need to replace the radiator on my auto V6 VP. I was wondering if it is better to get a VP radiator for a manual and fit a seperate transmission fluid cooler. If so, should I put the transmission cooler in front of the water cooler?
you will find that all rad's these days are "Auto" meaning they have the cooler in them but you don't nesseraly need it if you have a manual.
i recommend using the STD rad cooler for your car if it is a std box on a std engine as its costs no more and putting a cooler on a std setup will give you no gain... if you wish to use a cooler put it in series with your rad cooler so it runs out of the box into the rad cooler into the A/Mkt Cooler and back to the auto.
m3taL... for what its worth...

the best place for a external trans cooler is infront of the radiator.

Thanks for the advice
Yeah, what they said. Run the trans fluid through the radiator, and THEN through an aftermarket cooler. If you could be bothered, mount the after market cooler down the bottom of your front bar, to the side, away from the radiator. Allows more airflow to the radiator on hot days.
Also, if you have the extra dosh, invest in a VS V8 radiator. Thicker core, but still alloy, and the V6 thermo fan bolts right up onto themThat's what I'm running.
