Was wondering what i need to keep my boot from falling on my head ! Do they have a spring or small strut that is supposed to keep them up?

There's two boot springs that hold it up, they are most likely worn. See if u can get new ones, otherwise go to a wrecker with a crowbar and find the best ones, as they stretch and wear out over time. Putting them back in can be a challenge, best way i found is a big pair of vice grips, and someone small (i put my 5 foot brother inlaw in the boot haha) in the boot to twist them and clip them while someone on the outside lifts the boot up and down to make it easier for the person in the boot.

Also if you have a spoiler this could be the problem, in ym VK the boot will only stay up with the spoiler off, im looking at getting a custom gas strut to help.
