Hey Can any one tell me , does a standard VN V6 clutch fork have about 100 by 25mm steel block welded to it???
Just pulled transmission, never seen one like it.
as pictured below.

Yes that is definetly a standard vn clutch fork.
I am sure that they were fitted to stop harmonics and vibrations generated from the engine and gearbox throw out bearing area etc.
I too was puzzled when i saw it for the first time but have now seen about half a dozen or so.
hi many thanks, it looked pretty strange to me. and a few spare parts people I talked to hadn't seen them either
The V6 one has the extra crap welded to it, the V8 doesn't apart from that the forks are the same. That's just incase anyone ever want's to make a V8 one from a V6 one ^ and finds this in a search
exactly and even with that you can still notice the vibrations. i've opened up the slot in the bellhousing a little more because my clutch fork still touched it whe nthe engine hit about 2500rpm. on the V6 T5 there is also a large steel block on a bar attached to the extension housing for the same reason
