    Default VN SS Bob Tail

How much should I expect to pay for a VN SS bobtail?

Can you still get them new?

I had a look around for one about six months ago. There about $200 to $300 from a wreaker. The $300 one was in good nick though. Even had the original decals on it. You probably could get the entire kit off ebay for $300.

Thanks for that. None in the local wreckers down south of Adelaide.

Looking for an Aero spoiler. A joint near me makes copies for a few hundred bucks, so considering other options.
My friend said wreckers closer to Melb city have better variety of spoilers, im on the Mornington Peninsula so can anyone tell me if my friend is correct?

It's like a type of solit rubber - a little flexable - thats why the paint cracks I guess.

Starteed cleaning the blue and grey paint off. Thats gunna take a few weeks of serious shed time & coffee

Dont know about Melbourne but in Adelaide you need a pot of gold to get nice "bolt on's" from the wreckers.

I looked at the Aero kit - they look ace. BUT heavy heavy heavy. In light of the "lets take weight out of the Commodores" threads I'm stopping at an SS bob tail and a fiberglass grill.

Anyone know what the best way to fit a SS bob tail to the VN? Drilling holes in the wrong place would really get up my nose.

I would like to do a neat job.

Has anyone added a bob tail to a VN and like to pass on how?

yeah i had to do the same thing. i started off with sandpaper and thought i was gonna be at it for weeks, until i found some electric sander in the garage. took a couple of hours. im also interesting in knowing how to mount them. some of the screws inthe big piece have come out, so ive gotta replace them somehow

Dont know if the black sticky stuff used to glue door mouldings on will would hold on. 5 minute areldite may do the job. But glueing to rubber?

Hmmm. Maybe the local smash repair place may have a hint for you.

i dont know if this will work with a spoiler but i did this with my vs door pods, so maybe think a way of changing my method....

everywhere that needs to be held into the door by a screw and a hole drilled, i put white out (dont know, seemed to stay wet for a couple minutes) then places it onto the door and then i had little white dots where i was supposed to drill holes....

i dont know if the vn ss lips have the screws in them (like the garnish) or you screw them in but just a suggestion
