holden VN problems

hay alll!!!
jus bought a 1989 vn
and jus started to have a few problems...
this morning i tried to drive it was all good for 100m or so then it stalled and kept stalling so then about 1 oclock a tryed again n it startd fine without any problems...
it is dual fuel but i mostly run it on gas
it also has not been serviced in 2 years but i cant complain as i bought it for 1500$$$
if ne one has ne ideas wot coupld bwrong id really appricate the hand cheers guys

Crank angle sensor issue by the sounds of it. Keep your head up mate, she will last a long time once she gets a few small parts into her. Youve come to the right place for help.

yeah CAS is likely. Also should give her a good service! Spark gap and leads are critical for gas. But that would be if it's misfiring, not stalling.

do not check anything, just the small switch control the gas and the petrol, it might be just under your steering wheel, if that fail, the petrol and the gas go into the engine at the same time. I got the stalling problem exactly as yours, 300 to change the gas converter, the same, after I was ripped off more than 1000 bucks, the mechanic said it will cost 60 to fix. after that, never has a stall. just could not help put this on.

Well, to see if its a gas related problem then run it on FUEL for a few days and see if the same problem occurs! Im a genius.

hiya i have a 92 vp CALAIS v8 and the trans has started to go i can only use lower gear 1 n 2 i was wondering if any1 could tell me if i could put a v6 trans under the old girl cheers katrina
