    Default abuse commodore again

dear all, just abused my vn v6 again. Got up late this morning, stepped in the car with one eye still closed. turned on the old girl, goes as usual. on the high way I felt it lost power after 60km/h, and make a lot of noise, pressure the accelaration on the floor it is reluctant to go. any way still pressed it and floored to 95km/h, just off the high way, the other eye opened, the gear was on second all the way for 20km on the high way. learnt my lesson on the spot, but should I change the engine oil or get a tranny flush? do not do ithat like me.

Dude...try opening both eyes next time! ( unless ur a pirate and one of them is glass) HAR HAR!
Seriously tho, next time when something doesnt seem right or sound right, listen to whatthe car is trying to tell you.
Hope you dont have too much drama from this, and that you have learned a good lesson.
    Good luck!

So you were in 2nd gear at 100km/h? and you said it felt like it lost power? It should have felt powerfull if anything, and you would of heard the engine revving quite hard and out of the ordinary. Your a weirdo, open both your eyes when driving and listen. Why are you on the road? GTFO.

I checked the engine oil, seems fine, it is a penrite gas 20-60. the engine did sound very hard at that time but there is some moment in your life you lost your brain. do not know what is wrong, haven't been drinking for a while.

this is the third time I abused the car. first time, drove 5 km with the hand brake on. second, add engine oil and drove it for 24km without put the engine oil cap back. the engine seem to be very tough, and that is why I like it. will keep the vn for another 3 to 5 years if the old bird still can fly.

I once drove 30km in my VN in second..had the stereo on

I was thinking to myself, geez its picking up well on the highway

went up to 110 and probably more since i thought i was in third.

spose ill edit this and add, frequent oil changes are good and when was the last time you changed the trans filter and fluid.

If your worried about it do those 2 things and throw an air filter in her too if it needs it, kinda your own service.

I have never had probs with a gearbox other than jerking changes and the trans and fluid change fixed it.

actually you would be doing mor damage driving it for 5000km with dirty fluid and filter than you would driving it for a few k in second.

I think it's fairly easy to make a mistake once in a while.... Andyli, VNs are tough as nails, mine has put up with plenty of abuse and it's still going strong after 460,000 kms or so.

As for everyone who was alarmed by the one eye closed thing, it's more a turn of phrase for not being quite all there in the morning, I'm sure most of us are guilty of being a little clueless after waking up late and rushing to the car... I very much doubt he actually had one eye closed for half the morning.

With respect to abusing VNs, they can take it. I'm also guilty of driving about 30km with the handbrake on (sun shining on cluster = warning light useless; and VN handbrakes are easy to forget as THEY DON'T WORK). I've also found myself in second on the highway at least once, as I had the stereo on. I felt a little bad after that. I've never driven with the oil cap off although at least 2 people I know have, it's an easy mistake.

    Ease up, guys

Yeah, i agree, as much as Andy has done something rather foolish and most of us would not be silly enough to do this give him a break.
I actually think that "he is not retarded" and his post is hard to read because he is asian and is having difficulty translating to fluent English. ( But at least he is having a go!)
My missus's and her parents are from asia and as much as she grew up here and talks like an aussie her parents and i have funny conversations because of the way they put their broken english together. They can understand individual words and their meanings but sentence forming is hard. Especially seeing that we can have so many meanings for a single word.
Like the word Sh1t eg. eat ****, take the **** outta someone, dumb****, smart****, **** for brains, etc etc... must be very hard.
Yes Andy is a noob to cars and he is yet to learn a lot...... hopefully.
But dont pay out on him for his culture.

    thankyou, Rhino Racing

At the end of the day, shouldn't be anything to worry about, the motor and gearbox will be just fine.

learning english is hard sometime when you just moved to the country couple of years. every population has good people and also has bad ones. that makes the world colourful and interesting. I take all these comments including the "retard" as a complitment.
