heyas, i have a VP Exec 1992 V6. the fuel pump fuse keeps on blowing, just all of a sudden, this morning it was fine, after work i went through about 5 fuses. i have tried moving wiring around trying to see if there is a short but cant pin point it. the car is on gas, so when the fuel pump fuse blows it cuts out the gas as well.
i also put a new fuse in, disconnected to fuel pump at the tank, run the car on gas, it runs for about 5 secs then pops the fuse, keeps running for another 5 secs and then just stops and wont start again. i guess the problem is with the gas. it had a 15A fuse in it, i tried a 20A (i know i should not do that) but still popped the 20A
any suggestions?
I would jack the rear end up and secure it, then go to the back of the fuel tank where the pump is located and then you will see the wireing connector plug, unplug it, check the contacts, have a look in the immediate area for anything weird like exposed wires shorting.
