Windscreen Washer Plumbing

Trying to solve why my windscreen washers don't work, I traced the plumbing and found this tucked away:


Now my trouble is... I can't figure out where its supposed to go. Looking at the bottom of the tank, there is a small pump which has a pipe leading away from the bonnet and into the firewall here:


I would of thought it'd be more directly connected. But still, any idea on where my broken hose should lead?

The hose coming from the pump should connect to the hose on the left in your first picture. I don't know why it's going into the firewall.

Thanks buddy... got some new hose today and hooked it up how I first thought it should be and I have windscreen washers again! Thanks again
