as in previous thread i said i was looking for some s/h good rotors. is their any difference between vn disc;s and vp berlina v6 s2 disc's. i have been told that i have a v8 rotor is this correct as i would like to get some slotted disc's. oh will vh fit as well.
yea just make sure they match - when i bought my ute some knob had put the smaller v6 discs on (they use the same pad so they assumed the use the same rotor) - i changed the pads and wtf there was a massive lip on them
very dangerous
stops alot better with the right sized sloted rotors
Japanese scientists have created a camera with such speed that they now can photograph a woman with her mouth shut!
My VP has the V8 rotors , larger diameter than the VN V6.
dont mix and match the small rotor with the VP caliper or else you will be in the ****e.
I would assume (only assume mind you) that you have the finned VP calipers and the larger diameter rotor (the V8 rotor or VP SIIV6 rotor))
I would get the V8 rotor diameter if you have the finned calipers.

if you have the finned calipers the best rotors to get will be the v8 or fe2 ones. if you get from wreckers take a measuring tape and check they are 289mm diameter, not the 270mm rotors . get a pair off the one car and measure the thickness of the rotor. the minimum size i think is 20mm, try and get apair with at least 21 or 22mm thick, then they can be machined if need be later on. dont forget to get the larger caliper brackets when ya get the 289mm rotors, the 289mm discs wont fit with the small 270mm brackets. make sure you DONT mix wheel bearing parts between the different rotors, best if you buy new wheel bearings. I paid $70 for a pair of 289mm vp rotors, from wreckers last november they are DBA and are just under 22mm thick, and am very happy with em. hope this helps....
brakes fixed now. its amazing the things you learn off this site.![]()
the vb-vn are all the same size rotors, and the vp is about 20mm bigger. i have changed my vn to the vp exec rotors and calipers so it now brakes when i say to. the vp rotors have more vebtilation area than the ol' vn semi-solid rotors. make sure you use the same calipers as well as rotors from same model commodore. im now going to do the vt brake conversion soon on my vn{twin piston caliper and possibly rotor/hub assembly} then she will stop on a dime lol
Just changing to slotted rotors and decent pads will almost do the same thing. Unless you brake 1/2 a meter from where you want to stop, there is no need to go a VT set up except for wank factor.
