i've heard that a series1 vn v6 commodore cam is a bit better than the rest, suppose to give better pickup etc. is this true and if so what mods are needed to fit to s2 vp. also looking at exhaust manifolds that look like extractors. i think they would be better than stock vp ones
All things being fair square a VP is no slower than a series 1. The VP exhaust manifolds are better, the tune doesn't have as much advance so that makes the VP a little less pokey, the cam has less lift but more duration, in the end it's the same, a VN might get the inital jump but a VP will catch back up on the top end anyway

the S1 V6 do go the hardest from idle. unfortunatly i don't think you can use a s1 cam in a s2 as the flange on the front is different. personally i wouldn't waste time putting back a cam with a stock grind. if your going to put a new cam in it put a decent one in. try Wade cams

i dont think id bother camming a v6 anyway, for the cost the gains arnt worth it... everyone wants heaps of cash for one
imo if you really want a cam call up wade cams and see what grinds they can do, i know they do v8 cams for $200 for a fairly large cam..none of this "stage" bull**** :P
not worth the effort to fit the vn s1 cam!! you better off opening up the heads because thats where the buicks are restrictive
