Auto or manual?
Im not 100% sure on auto, i think it will with the correct bellhousing but dont quote me on that.
Manual is a bit different, now i forget which way it goes but they have different input shaft lengths.
Pretty sure its V6 is shorter so a V8 can be machined to fit a V6 but not the other way around. That makes sence as the V8 motor is essentially longer to accomadate the 2 pistons.
So a V8 box could be machined to fix a V6 and if i have ti the wrong way around, a new input shaft could be installed.
The ratios in the box are different, V8 1st is alot shorter.
Sorry, that post was a bit vague.
aZk.
Yeah sorry is an auto, thanks for the reply, any more suggestions welcome
no.
diffrent bolt pattern, v8 has a point at the top, v6 is flat.. also the input shaft for the manuals is diffrent.. short answer tho no it wont.. thats why the v8 transmissions go for heaps more on ebay
why would you want a v8 trans for a v6 anyway? only diffrences are a few valves, making the v8 box slightly stronger
you can pick up a v6 box for $100 easily!
and by the way azk, the box's arnt longer, the tail shafts are just diffrent lengths
