    Default snorkel

hi, ive been trying to do my own search and couldnt find any sizes on a vt snorkel modified to suit a vp airbox.

can i please have foldout dimensions of a vt or a el ford snorkel because ive been searching and couldnt find those dimensions.

i want to try and make a el ford snorkel and vt snorkel out of sheet metal

you want to save money? get some pipe from bunning and run it to your bumper thats probably the cheapest way..... all the stuffing around to make vt/el parts fit your car isnt worth it.. or the cost....

Why does it have to be the exact dimensions of a VT or EL snorkel?
If you are handy with sheet metal you could probably make up a bigger/better original one. If you go down this road do a how-to on it. Maybe others here are looking for an fresh idea as well.
Can hardly beat the s/c cai or homemade piping for performance and practicality though

    Cool Snorkel??

May i ask why you want a snorkel???
Are u doing deep river crossings? Maybe a full SCUBA set up would be more appropriate.
You may need some WD40 for the plugs and leads tho!
If you had a packet of biscuits on the roof...... would they get wet?
Surely there must be bridges in S.A.

Y would u wanna put ford parts on????
Hasnt everyone already explained this to you in the last 2 threads u posted about this?

I can't handle this any more, im going insane!!!!!!
WHY DO YOU INSIST ON PUTTING ****ING FORD PARTS ON YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!
Do some research, the factory VT or EL intakes are crap, hence why people change them.
The L67 parts can be had for under $50, if you can't afford that then don't mod your car. SIMPLE!

    Cool Try This!!

    Hey Shonky,
Here is a cheap easy mod for you.
Why dont you duct your airconditioning into your intake pipe???? Now that is a true CAI (Cold Air Intake!!!)
Think of the advantages.... cold air on tap.
You would have a phenomenal increase in power, it would be more fuel efficient and it is totally variable by just changing your fan settings from 1-4. (I personaly would not use anything above setting 2 unless on the freeway!)
I would not tell anyone else here on the forum about it.... cos then they will all want one. Forget those pussies with their turbos and superchargers..... they will all bow at your feet in respect for your newfound street racer status!
You will have Bray and Stevens knocking on your door in no time asking you to mod their latest engines so they will still have the edge!
Who knows... you may even be able to patent it!!! Call it SSS... The "Shonks Supercharging System!"
Keep it to yourself though...... MUMS THE WORD!
    GO GET EM TIGER!

or you could re-route your exhaust back into the intake as seen on another forum.... worked a treat.... he even got a wiki entry made up about him

If yu want power just got and buy a NOS bottle and run a hose out the window into the airbox, have a passenger holding the bottle while you drive, now let the passenger open the NOS bottle while you drive. This will be more fun then a ford snorkel.

    Cool H2O Enhanced!

What if every night you remove your standard airbox and fill it with water and wack it in the freezer?
Then in the morning all u have to do is get it out, drill some holes through it to let air through and then just wack it on ya car. You probably wont even need a filter because it will act like a water curtain that spraypainters use in a spray booth!
That has gotta be the cheapest CAI mod ever! (How much does a couple of litres of water set u back!)
