    Default Trouble with HVAC again...

Need some help with an issue thats driving me nuts... I had another thread about getting a little white thing for the HVAC controls, as I snapped the other one. I got one, no worries. But when I put the new one on and tried to turn the controls from cold round to hot, it won't budge....

I have tried manualy turning the valve with my hand, and it's stuck fast.

Has anyone had this problem, or could anyone shed any light on to what could be causing it? Thanks

    Sam

The post is a bit old but...

The rod has to be in the correct location when the clip is refitted. The dial has to be turned to the full cold position and the plastic arm has to be pushed all the way back to close the vacuum valve (under the dash, behind the heater controls) before clipping the rod in.

Haha.. Yer, still driving around freezin my nuts off!

I put the rod back into the white clip thing. Even by trying to turn it by hand, it won't budge. What I am thinking it might be is something blocking the flap that releases the hot air into the system. If so, i'll have to remove the heater box, which means whole dash must come out!

    Cheers,
    Sam

Will the dial move without the clip on the rod? The rod may be catching on something where it passes through to the lever/clip.

Alternatively, will the plastic lever the clip is in move with the rod disconnected? The lever is connected to the vent control flap.

Nope, tried that. The clip, won't turn by hand. Tried with the motor running, with the motor warm, holding open the heater tap.... The pipes going to the heater core are hot, so it's not a blocked core. I'm thinking it could be as simple as the vent control flap being jammed somehow...

    Thanks
