Default VN Series 1 V6 Auto to Manual Adaptor

I was told i could buy a adaptor for the series 1 VN 6 bolt crank that will allow for it to have a manual gearbox fitted.

Does anyone know where i could get one of these adaptors ?

    yep, Castlemaine Rod Shop

Here's a direct link to there catalogue with the crank adaptor http://www.rodshop.com.au/catalogues...alAdaptors.pdf

just make sure you get a series 1 manual flywheel for the conversion tho.

Are you sure of this?? Because i was also told that you would need a conversion kit, because VN S1 Auto engine has a different flywheel to the VN s1 Manual engine, there still both 6bolts but on a manual they are spread more apart from the auto or Vice versa. but if i am wrong and u are right the manual conversion that i have sitting in my shed will be a hell of alot easyer :P

Correct, the converter plate is for the autos to manuals. A S1 Auto wont take a manual without it. Series II manual should bolt up to a series one manual ok.

    SI Auto = 6 Bolt
    SI Manual = 8 Bolt...
    SII Auto/Manual = 8 Bolt.

    Think thats right..

i Thought the S1 manual was 6bolt but are wider or something and cannot hook up to the auto engine because of it.

the s1 manual is different to the rest. see V6 Crankshaft Info

honestly i wouldn't get the adaptor, i've not heard a good thing about em. much better getting the custom flywheel for CRS as mentioned in the other thread

otherwise all the manuals are the same, same bellhousing etc

SI Auto = 6 Bolt smaller diameter and is flush with the rear of the engine.
SI Manual = 6 Bolt wider diameter and protrudes from the rear of the engine.
    SII Auto/Manual = 8 Bolt.

That's 100% correct, the link that immortality posted has very good infomation in it about the different cranks in detail just have a look at that.

oh and just to make it clear there is know way in the world a S1 VN manual swap is possible without a adapter/special flywheel

price for the adapter: (correct 28/4/08) $308 including GST
