    Default T5 5 Speed Ford and Holden. Are they the same?

    Just looking for a New 5spd atm as mines Royal ed (my Foaming Tune didn't help ta jason )

    there scares as ****e at the moment.. bout $550 for a Decent one which is ok.

    My question is. are they the same from a Ford just a matter of changing the bell housing?? or are they a different box altogether??

    just wana try broaden my horizons as there are many more ford at the wreckers than holdens :P well up here anyways

    you ahve to change the output shaft as the splines are different between holden and fords, but the actual gearbox is the same

    might just go buy this one tomorrow for $550 and hope she's an OX.

    While im here anyone got any tips/pointer/obsurvations in on taking a 5sped and clutch out of a VN? on axel stands not a hoist

    dont drop the box on your chest thats about it..... make sure you use a proper clutch aligning tool or the old input shaft to line the clutch up so the box slides in no worries....

    you can modify a trolly jack to lower the box. Iv heard its best not to do it with the car on ramps as is can put strain on the driveline or something. But i cant comfirm
