hi, guys, has anyone ever used 5w-30 in a vn v6? happen to have a bottle of Castrol Edge, good idea?![]()
what the??...seems extremely thin, probably NOT a good idea.
how many k's on the clock?
be a bit thin i think for a v6.
I recommend you just go buy 20w-50 or thicker,(depending on how many k's) rather than just use left over oil you got there.
I always use Castrol GTX2 20w-50
5w is like water, not a good idea in a bigger motor
I wouldnt suggest using it,you would probably cause damage to your engine when it gets to operating temperature because of the grade of oil is too thin. Also you would encounter burning oil issues.Stick with at least a 15w 40 or 20w 50 grade oil.

I used some 5w40 Penrite oil during my hardcore GTech phase. You could feel the difference... not the difference in power, but the difference in noise and vibration. It sounded like an anvil going through a sawmill. Just my two cents![]()

Not a good idea at all lool.
agreed, no good at all. 15w40 or better 20w50 if it has a few km's (and what VN/VP doesn't)
