    Question Auto Trans: filter seal?

    Hey dudes, quick question here:

When servicing your T700 auto, you remove the filter - and the filter neck has an orange rubber ring on it, to seal and secure it.

    1) the old ring didn't come out, and I can't prise it out. It's now butchered and I have to remove it, but it won't budge. Even with small sharp things. Any tips?

    2) the old ring, still mangled and stuck in the return line, appears to be three layers: rubber, metal, rubber. Is this correct, or am I starting to butcher stuff that's kinda permanent? I've been trying to peel the rubber off, and also appear to be peeling metal. There is, however, rubber behind and in front of this metal. Is there supposed to be metal inside this o-ring?

    Thankyou so much in advance

Could well be the feed line I just made that bit up to give peeps an idea of what it looked like ^_^

But I got the little seal out in the end. *wipes brow* It was indeed half metal.

Flathead screwdriver + lump hammer + effort = winnar.

All in all, a bitch of a job to do, but worth it. Nothing better than the feeling of driving a car with fresh engine oil, trans fluid, spark plugs and air filter.

And yeah I did try that, para. No luck. But is all good now

    Thanks anywho!
