T56 Gear stick and knob onto T5

hey guys,

ive been reading a few threads recently about putting the T56 stick and knob onto the T5 gearbox. Most of the threads say that they just fit straight on.

i bought a t56 stick knob and boot on the weekend and was trying to fit when alas, the bracket on the t56 stick did not fit over the gearbox part. (the bit that has the 2 holes in it.

Has any had this problem when trying to do theirs? is there any solution out there?

fyi, mine has a ripshifter in it if that helps.
